BASTROP LITTLE LEAGUE

Managing a Little League Team

Team Managers are the lifeblood of Little League. Team Managers are charged with day to day team operations and ensuring that our young players have the best coaching available. Moving from a coaching role to a manager is a big decision. Little league has resources to help you make your choice. If you have already volunteered to be a manager, we have resources to help you be successful.

Equipment

Bastrop Little League will provide the basic equipment you need to run practices and games. A coach's kit will be provided courtesy of Academy Sports and Outdoors, the official sporting goods partner of Bastrop Little League, that include practice balls, lineup cards and an assortment of other supplies. Game balls and division appropriate equipment will be available in your field house. If you have specific equipment needs, contact your Coaching Coordinator. Your Coaching Coordinator should be the first point of contact for any issue that arises during your season.

Schedules

As a manager, you will find the first question you are asked by parents is "What is our schedule?". Schedules are determined according to the number of teams we area able to field. If we have less than four teams, we will try to coordinate inter-league schedules. When we schedule with other leagues (any Little League outside of Bastrop) coordination and compromise are required. It requires time to achieve coordination and compromise all facilitated by the League Presidents. Inter-league schedules are typically released within 2 weeks of opening day. Your Coaching Coordinator has input on schedules. If you have any scheduling needs they should be your primary point of contact.
